Grocery Retailer Metro Invests $19M In Windsor
Grocery retailer Metro is investing $19-million in Windsor.
It will upgrade its existing Metro and Food Basics stores along with opening a new location at Devonshire Mall.
150 people will be hired at the new location when it opens in June.
"When a hiring fair is scheduled we will be sharing that with the community," says Company Spokesperson Mark Bernhardt.
"We want to demonstrate that Windsor is important to Metro and Food Basics and that we are here to offer good jobs and be a part of the community."
The money in the existing stores will be used to upgrades fixtures and add new decor.

Metro is also donating $20,000 to the Metro Green Apple School Program to fund healthy eating grants in the Windsor area.
