Guilty Plea In A Fatal Crash In Windsor (AUDIO)
A guilty plea at the start of a trial in a fatal crash in Windsor.
25-year-old Calvin Crosby pleaded guilty to dangerous driving causing death and dangerous driving causing bodily harm in a crash in April 2014.
20-year-old Katie Robson of LaSalle was a passenger in Crosby's SUV when it collided with another car on Lauzon and Tranby killing Robson.
Court heard Crosby's vehicle was going more than 100km/hour at the time of the crash.
With the charge, Crosby is facing jail time.
"Mr. Crosby made his decision and instructed me, I think he wanted to get things behind him," said his lawyer John Sitter outside of the courthouse."I do know he felt very responsible despite things that went on, I think there were some triable issues but he had his concerns."
"I know he feels terrible about Ms Robson, absolutely terrible, they were friends, it is a horribly tragic situation."
Because of the guilty plea, blood-alcohol charges were dropped.
The case returns to court May 12th to set a date for a sentencing hearing.
The trial for the other driver Kyle Colthurst continues in court.
