Harrow Winery Enhancing Customer Experience
A Harrow winery wants to expand its facility to meet rising demand.
Colchester Ridge Estate Winery has been part of the landscape since 2001.
Essex town council recently approved rezoning for part of the property on 108 County Rd. 50 E. near Island View Dr. in Harrow. The new zoning will allow the vinyard to build a new multi-purpose building.
Owner Bernard Gorski says wine making has really come into it's own in Essex county. The new facility will allow from more traffic at the winery.
"We've experienced an increase in activity, we're really pleased to see all the people come out," says Gorkski. "We're going to expand so that we can give all the people a greater experience."
A new 7,400 sq/ft building will be closer to the entrance of the Winery on County Rd. 50 E.
"The retail space is inside the winery production building itself. What we're going to be doing is building a stand alone building, which will be a brand new facility up near the road, instead of all the way down the driveway and through the vineyard."
The new building will allow the winery to offer more services to its guests.
"It will have eating facilities, it will have retail space, it will have party facilities, and I think it's just what the area needs at this time."
It's expected it will be operational for the spring.
