Health Canada Seizes Eight Unauthorized Skin Lotions/Creams
Some unauthorized skin lotions and creams have been seized by Health Canada because they contain a prescription drug (clobetasol propionate or betamethasone dipropionate).
According to Health Canada, eight creams were distributed by Ayotai and sold by various Quebec retailers.
Prescription drugs can only be dispensed by a professional to a patient with a valid prescription.
The products are being evaluated by Health Canada for safety, effectiveness or quality and could pose serious health risks.
Consumers, particularly pregnant or nursing women, are affected.
