Heat Warning Issued for Windsor-Essex and Chatham-Kent
It's going to be a hot one for those celebrating outdoors this Canada Day.
Environment Canada has issued a heat warning for Windsor-Essex and Chatham-Kent beginning Monday and it will linger throughout the week.
According to the statement, a hot-humid air mass will make its way through the region with daytime highs of 31C or 40C with the humidex — there will be little relief overnight with minimum temperatures only dropping to 21C.
Environment Canada says scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible each day, which could prevent maximum daytime highs reaching 31C but humidex values will still hover around 40C.
The hot and humid conditions are expected to remain in the area until the weekend when a cold front comes through on Saturday.
