Holland Leaving Red Wings

The Edmonton Oilers have hired longtime Red Wings executive Ken Holland as their new general manager.

TSN reports an official announcement is expected in the next few days.

Holland will take over from interim GM Keith Gretzky and will have full control with regard to hockey operations.

Holland's deal is said to be five years at $5-million per season.

He leaves after 22 seasons in Detroit and three NHL Stanley Cup championships.
