Humane Society Returns Horse To Owners

A horse at the centre of allegations of animal cruelty has been returned to its owner.

The Windsor-Essex County Humane Society is returning the horse, seized Thursdayafter the caretakers met all the necessary conditions.

A protest today urged more of the animals on the property at County Rd. 42 and 9th Concession be taken away.

Executive Director Melanie Coulter stressed follow up conditions need to be met as well.

"There are visits to a veterinarian that they've paid for and they'll have to follow through with," she says. "Once conditions are met we have no choice but to return an animal to its owner, but we will be making sure follow up conditions are met."
