Hundreds Attend Multicultural Council Health Access Day

Fifty health care providers, community groups and others are now better known to newcomers to the Windsor area.

The Multicultural Council hosted the 17th Health Access Day at the Fogolar Furlan Club.

As many as 800 people who are new to Canada and even some who have lived here for several years attended.

Antoinette Nasser is Coordinator of the VON Immigrant Health Clinic at the M.C.C..

She says the day is helpful for people unfamiliar to what's in the community.

"Providing the education and the know how on how to access all their options with all the community programs and services that are available to them"

Nasser says the people attending the event are often unaware of what's available.
