Ice Dogs Outlast Spitfires In Niagara

A late push wasn't enough for the Spitfires to recover from a slow start Sunday in Niagara.

After an uneventful first period on both sides of the rink, the Ice Dogs unloaded on Windsor in the second with back to back markers from Sam Miletic and a power-play goal from Akil Thomas to make it 3-0 heading into the third.

The Spitfires fought back in the third on an early goal from Cole Purboo to make it 3-1 before Luke Kutkevicius split the defense to make it a one goal game with less than five minutes to go in the game.

Niagara goalie Colton Incze shut the door from there to hold on for a 3-2 win.

The Owen Sound Attack visit the WFCU Centre Thursday at 7:05pm.
