Irish Win Season Opener

Ian Book's 11-yard touchdown run late in the first half broke a 14-all tie and ninth-ranked Notre Dame went on to win 35-17 in the NCAA football season opener at Louisville.  

Book also threw a touchdown pass for the Fighting Irish, who had four scores on the ground.  

Jahmir Smith had two of those rushing touchdowns for the Irish.  

Quarterback Jawon Pass had two touchdown runs for the Cardinals, who led 14-7 in the first quarter.
