It's Time For Some Steampunk And Harry Potter In Amherstburg
Organizers are expecting a good crowd as a new festival opens tonight in Amherstburg.
'Amherstburg Uncommon', a free wizardry, Harry Potter and steampunk festival, is set to kick off in downtown Amherstburg around Toddy Jones Park.
Manager of Tourism and Culture Anne Rota says the event is free for children and adults, and will include displays, activities such as a 66 ft. maze, an escape rooms, wizard ball throw, magicians, teapot racing, and a big top tent with entertainment.
Rota says Amherstburg always puts on great events.
"There is quite an underground genre of steampunkers and Harry Potter fans, so super excited people, they can't wait to dress up and we are encouraging people to dress up," she says.
The festival is free, but the shows in the Big Top tent is $5.
