It Was A Wet November & Expect A Cold December

It was a wet November and expect a cold December.

Severe Weather Meteorologist with Environment Canada Geoff Coulson says last month was the wettest November on record since 2011 with 144.2mm of rain.

Temperatures for November were also cooler than normal averaging 4.1C, while the normal average is 5.1C.

He expects the cooler trend to continue.

"We are looking at a cold arctic air mass coming down from Nunavut through the Prairies, northern Ontario and getting down to Southwestern Ontario, it will be very stubborn over the next few weeks," says Coulson.

However, he says there doesn't appear to be any major storms in the forecast leading up to Christmas.

If any snow does fall, Coulson says it will only be a few centimetres.
