The Toronto Blue Jays are taking steps to protect fans.

The MLB team announced Tuesday that it will extend protective netting at Rogers Centre next season, as well as at its spring training home in Dunedin, Florida — joining other teams that have taken measures after foul balls injured fans.

There were no details provided about the length and height of the new netting at Rogers Centre.

Last month, the Chicago White Sox became the first team in the major leagues to extend protective netting from foul pole to foul pole.

The White Sox announced the safety measure in June, a week after a foul ball at their home park hit a woman in the head and sent her to the hospital.
