Job Day Hopes To Connect Employers With Job Seekers
The WFCU Centre is the place to be if you are looking for a job.
It's the 7th annual Windsor-Essex Job Day on Friday, October 13th.
More than 50 booths will be set up with employers looking for workers.
Centre Employment Services Manager Melissa Basarac says the employers are looking for people with specific candidates.
"We sold out the event, we have 57 booths of exhibitors. 90% are all employers and all the employers are hiring so there is no placement agency our goal for job day is to connect the employers with the job seekers."
Basarac says lots of jobs are up for grabs. Jobs available range from general labourers to specialized jobs.
"Hundreds of jobs because we don't specifically ask each employer how many job postings they are looking for but when you look at the employers who are coming to job day, there are tones, I'm not going to say thousands but more than hundreds."
Some employers taking part Teppermans, Vista Print, Cypher Systems, Highline Mushrooms, Select Tool and Syncreon. Basarac says people should bring a lot of resumes and be ready for an interview.
"Dress for the part because the employers are there pre-screening so they are going to collect your resume, they are going to pre-screen, we also have on-site interview areas so if an employer wants to interview on site they can do that as well."
Jobs available range from general labourers to specialized jobs.
It is being organized by the New Canadians Centre of Excellence and will be taking place from 10am to 3:30pm.
