Kansas City Doubles Tigers 4-2

Jakob Junis fired seven strong innings as the Royals clipped the Tigers 4-2 in Kansas City.

Junis gave up eight hits and two runs while striking out eight to earn his fourth win.  

Mike Moustakas drove in three runs and scored the other for KC, and Kelvin Herrera earned his seventh save.  

The Royals took three-of-four in the set for their first series win of the year.

John Hicks plated both of Detroit's runs on a solo homer and an RBI-single.   Matt Boyd gave up all four runs over seven innings to take the loss.

The Tigers dipped to 14-and-19.

The Tigers now begin a three-game series against the Rangers tonight in Texas.  

Michael Fulmer starts for Detroit.   He's 2-and-1 with a 2.80 ERA in six starts this season.
