Kingsville Man Drowns In Lake Erie
A man pulled from the waters of Lake Erie near Cedar Island in Kingsville is dead, despite the best efforts of paramedics.
OPP report 41-year-old Tyson Koehn was pulled from the waters on Tuesday after emergency personnel responded to a report of a missing boater around 4:45pm.
EMS personnel performed CPR on Koehn before sending him to hospital, but it wasn't enough as he was pronounced dead a short time later.
Police report Koehn was operating a small boat with four children on board. One of the kids went for a swim, but appeared to be struggling. Police say Koehn tried to help, but began to struggle himself before going under water.
All four children were rescued by a passing boat along with a person on shore who swam out to help.
The search for Koehn included OPP, the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre and the US Coast Guard.
