Labour Unrest At Ontario's Community Colleges
Ontario's community colleges want to extend the current collective agreement for their academic employees.
It has made an offer of settlement but the union representing the workers, OPSEU, has rejected holding a vote.
The chair of the college's bargaining team says the offer is in line with other public sector extensions for support staff, teachers and education workers.
The union has asked the Ontario Labour Relations Board to schedule a strike vote next month.
The current contract, which covers St. Clair College, expires September 30th.
