Lakeshore OPP Police Dog Finds Suspects who Allegedly Fled Crash

Lakeshore OPP dog MAX helped to find the occupants of a vehicle who allegedly fled the scene following a crash.

The OPP were called to the corner of Manning Rd and Essex County Rd. 42 on Saturday, June 1st at 1:30am.

An eastbound vehicle on County Rd. 42 crossed the centreline, narrowly missing a westbound vehicle and rolled over after entering a ditch.

The driver and passenger fled before police arrived.

The OPP's canine unit was dispatched and located both people who were hiding in a ditch about 2km from the crash scene.

No one was hurt.

The owner/occupant of the car has been charged with failing to report a collision.
