A record number of participates will be taking part in this year's Maryvale Night Run.
The 7th annual event takes place Saturday, August 17 starting at 8:30pm at Dieppe Park.
Carol Myers is the Assistant to the Executive Director at Maryvale.
She says it's a family event.
"We encourage people to walk, to run," says Myers. "We want families to come so by all means bring a stroller if you have a little one and you want to participate and you want them to be apart of it. We love having everyone involved and I think people get that when they come down to the event."
Myers says this year's event has attracted 502 participates and many will be lit up.
"We had Enwin who sponsored us and they have a LED ball cap that the first 300 registration people got a LED ball cap that will be lit up," says Myers.

She says this year's event includes a kids dash and a 5km run or walk.
"We start at Dieppe Park, we had two and a half kilometres towards the bridge, do a round about there there will be strobe lights and music and head on back towards Dieppe Park again," says Myers.
This year's fundraising goal is $10,000.
Money raised will support children's mental health at Maryvale.
