LaSalle Emergency Services are Recruiting

If you've ever considered a career in emergency services, now is the time to apply.

An open house hosted by LaSalle police and LaSalle fire was held Wednesday evening at the Vollmer Complex.

LaSalle Deputy Fire Chief Ed Thiessen says there are openings right now within LaSalle fire.

"We currently have four part-time, paid positions and our application process is open until February 15th," he says. "People can drop resumes off at the Town of LaSalle Fire Hall and we have details on our Facebook page and Twitter account."

Thiessen says it can be difficult to become a firefighter but his advice is to never give up.

"I know that some of our current firefighters went through the process four times before they got hired but it's honing those physical skills I think for the physical test that really gets them through the process."
