Leamington Man Cashes In

Another lottery winner in Essex County.

Maurice Thibeault of Leamington received more than $3-million from the September 20 Lotto 6/49 draw.

The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation paid Thibeault  one half of $6.1-million prize.

In a release, the OLG says it completed its prize claim review and verified the ticket was purchased by Thibeault.

The other half of the prize remains in the courts and is in dispute.

The dispute is between Thibeault and his former live-in girlfriend Denise Robertson.

Thibeault allegedly tried to claim the prize five days after moving out of their home.

The matter is expected to be resolved later this month.

The winning ticket was purchased at Lucky 7 Variety on McNaughton Avenue in Chatham.

Thibeault picked up his cheque in Toronto on Thursday.
