Lions Boost Secondary with Free Agent Signing

The Detroit Lions have signed free agent cornerback Johnathan Alston.

Alston entered the NFL with the Miami Dolphins as an undrafted free agent in 2018.

In a corresponding roster move, Detroit waived injured cornerback Tarvarus McFadden.

The Lions also announced they have activated wide receiver Tommylee Lewis after he was placed on the physically unable to perform list.

Meantime, the Lions and the Patriots were back on the practice field in Allen Park Tuesday.

There were a few altercations during drills and Detroit rookie defensive lineman P.J. Johnson was sent to the locker room following the first skirmish.

The Lions and Patriots wrap up three days of joint workouts Wednesday.
