Local Chamber Gearing Up For 28th Annual Business Excellence Awards
Nominations are still open up for the 28th annual Business Excellence Awards.
Put on by the Windsor-Essex Regional Chamber of Commerce, the awards recognize a number of categories including Small, Mid-size and Large Business of the Year, the Innovation Award and Young Professional of the Year.
Chamber President and CEO Matt Marchand is encouraging residents to go online to enter their favourite business or business person in Windsor-Essex.
Marchand says it's important to recognize those who go above and beyond.
"It's an opportunity for us to gather as a business community once a year and honour those and celebrate those who have done such great work, but the broader picture is that we have, as I've always said, we've got a great business community, probably the best in the country. It's an opportunity for us to come together as a community once a year and celebrate the success of our colleagues and it's just a wonderful night."
He says it's a great opportunity for businesses.
"If you look at some of the past winners, and to a large extent, I get feedback such as, "It was the highlight of my life so far" or "It was such an honour". Great opportunity to get up there and be honoured and get a chance to have your video on, tell people what you do and why you do it. We're privileged to have a lot of these great leaders in our community and it's a way to celebrate them."
Marchand adds, they want to hear about the best of the best.
"If you know of a company or individual that fits one of the categories. Please think about companies that you patronize, friends, places you've been impressed with, people in the community you've been impressed with and we'd love to have them participate. It's really our biggest night of the year."
Nominations are open until October 4.
The awards ceremony goes April 18, 2018 at Caesars Windsor.
