Local Chamber Honours Outgoing Chair
The Windsor-Essex Regional Chamber of Commerce is paying tribute to its its outgoing chair for his contribution to the local business community.
Jeff MacKinnon has been involved with the chamber since 2008, serving most recently as board chair.
Members of the business community gathered Thursday at 'Augustus 27' at Caesar's Windsor to show their appreciation.
MacKinnon says the past year has been a challenge and he looks forward to passing what he's learned on to his successor. "It's important to our members that we're out there to support them and advocate on their behalf on some of the issues, that are really challenging from a business point of view and the ability to operate in Ontario."
Marty Beneteau was also presented a life time achievement award for his business and community contributions.
Beneteau is the former editor-in-chief of the Windsor Star.
He joined the star as a reporter in 1980 and retired in October of 2016.
