Local NDP Hold Strategic Planning Session

Local NDP MPs and MPPs are showing they're a united front for Windsor-Essex.

The federal and provincial representatives met to discuss a wide range of issues from hydro prices to trade deals.

"We are a cohesive unit here," says Cheryl Hardcastle, MP for Windsor-Tecumseh. "We wanted to make sure we were sharing information about our riding on what is going on and linking any of our strategy's that we have obviously provincially and federally and just how we can go forward in Windsor-Essex County."

MPP Percy Hatfield for Windsor-Tecumseh says NDP members are looking for a way to solve the ongoing hydro crisis.

"We talked about a bunch of issues, hydro provincially being a huge one for us and how stupid and insensitive it is that people are having their hydro cut off in these cold months. That will be a big issue when we go back to Queens park on Tuesday and I know that it is a big issue at the federal level," says Hatfield.

The last week of the current Parliamentary session in Ottawa goes next week, before two sitting weeks in March.
