Local Regiment Association Holding Blood Donor Clinic
The Windsor Regiment Association is asking the public to roll up their sleeves this weekend.
On Saturday the regiment is holding its 2nd annual Rob Robertson and Veterans Memorial Blood Donor Clinic.
Retired Colonel John Celestino says Robertson was a member of the association and the clinic is in memory of him.
""We had a member of our association and long standing member of the regiment Bob and Belinda Robertson, Bob recently passed away and Belinda in memory of him and all veterans who have served single handedly went to the commanding officer of the regiment and asked him if she could put this together," says Celestino.
He asking military personnel and the general public to come out and donate.
"When you think of the need today and just the good it can do and I know service men and women under stand this because our needs can be at anytime especially when you're overseas," says Celestino. "Generally speaking it could be large amounts required so it's just something that's easy to do, it helps everyone."
Last year about 25 people donated.
This year's goal is 55 donors.
The clinic runs from 8am until 10:30am at the Canadian Blood Services Building on Grand Marais Road East.
