Man Who Killed A Motorcycle Rider Granted Parole
A Windsor man who admitted he was texting and driving ahead of a fatal crash on EC Row has been granted full parole.
In July 2015, David Cassady rammed into a motorcycle from behind, killing the driver, 66-year old Donald Russell of Amherstburg.
Court heard that Cassady was texting, going 190 km/h, and had alcohol in his system.
He was sentenced to three-and-a-half years in prison, but is now out on full parole only a year-and-a-half later with restrictions to not consume alcohol or drive.
