Margaret Trudeau Event In Windsor Raises $127,000 For Maryvale
Maryvale is hiring two full-time therapists to help teens thanks to a popular fundraiser last fall.
Stigma Enigma raised over $127,000 through the Margaret Trudeau event back in November.
The mother of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau spoke to a sold out crowd of over 800 people at the Caboto Club about her challenges in life dealing with Bipolar Disorder.
Executive Director of Maryvale Connie Martin says because of the new hires, more than 100 teens that are in distress will be able to receive counselling quickly.
"These teens may otherwise have had to wait extended periods of time for counselling or fallen through the cracks," says Martin.
Stigma Enigma is an annual event that brings in a high profile guest speaker to raise awareness about mental health issues.
