McIlroy Finishes Strong at Canadian Open
Another PGA championship for Rory McIlroy.
The 30-year-old won the RBC Canadian Open at Hamilton Golf and Country Club on Sunday after pulling away from the field with a 9-under 61 in the final round of Canada's national championship.
The win was McIlroy's sixth national title. He has also won the U.S., British, Irish and Australian Opens.
He says everyone at the tournament was in great spirits and he credits the success of the Toronto Raptors for that.
McIlroy himself even threw on a Raptors jersey as he accepted his winning trophy.
Adam Hadwin was the low Canadian. The golfer from Abbotsford, B.C., finished sixth. Mackenzie Hughes, from nearby Dundas, Ont., finished in a tie for 14th.
