Morgan Eager To Play For Windsor

Windsor's newest Spitfire is eager to hit the ice.

16-year-old Cody Morgan will be in the lineup Thursday against Peterborough and will face off against his former team in Kingston on Friday.

Morgan says he was excited when he heard he was coming to Windsor.

"I know that they're a great organization, I knew I'd be in good hands, they're in a rebuild so I knew I'd get some good opportunity to play," says Morgan.

Morgan is hoping he can be a core part of the rebuild, saying "I don't want to be moved around too much, I just want to stay in once place. I'm happy that it's Windsor."

Morgan came to Windsor as part of a blockbuster trade that sent forward Gabriel Vilardi and defenceman Sean Day to Kingston in exchange for the highly-touted, 2017 first-round pick Morgan and five draft picks: Mississauga's 2nd in 2020, Kingston's 2nd rounders in 2022, 2024 and 2025, Kingston's 3rd in 2020 and Kingston's 3rd in 2023 (conditional).
