MP Brian Masse Seeks NDP Nomination for Windsor West
After six successful federal election campaigns, Windsor West NDP MP Brian Masse is seeking another victory.
Masse announced Friday morning, he is seeking the party nod at the nomination meeting June 9, 2019. (at the Hellenic Cultural Centre on Walker Rd)
Masse has represented the area since 2002 and he pointed out this will be the first campaign he will run without his father and stepfather who passed away.
His top priorities will be the border crossing, a national auto strategy, pharmacare, housing and consumer protection with cell phone companies.
"We have seen the recent announcement by Fiat Chrysler and I've asked the minister to be involved in this. He has refused and it just seems to be a lazy approach that is a signature characteristic of this government."
Despite his six victories, Masse points out none of them were easy ones.
"I don't take anything for granted," he says. "That is the past, my job right now is to show that I'm a good candidate for nomination for the New Democrats and second to that if I get the nomination is to show that I need to earn a vote back."
