The MP for Leamington has seen first-hand the damage done on Pelee island in last weekend's storm.
Chatham-Kent-Leamington MP Dave Van Kesteren toured the island with ERCA and municipal officials.
He says the roadways on the island, in particular the West Shore Road, are close to being breached by Lake Erie.
Van Kesteren says he's been told another similar storm and the road will wash away.

Van Kesteren says he'll appeal directly to Infrastructure Minister Amarjeet Sohi.
"All we want to do is be proactive, we have taken a group to Ottawa from ERCA and from the island to talk to the ministry there. They're aware of what we're doing" explains Van Kesteren. " We just want to get the awareness out there and just make sure that there's the push we need to get these funds"
Van Kesteren says the scale of the needed repairs are substantial, with about $8-million needed.
He says the repairs are beyond the scope of what Pelee Island can afford.
Van Kesteren says he's continuing to tour the flooded and storm damaged areas.
He expects to meet with homeowners over the weekend to learn better what challenges they face.
