Multiple Charges Laid From OPP Traffic Stop
A 35-year-old man from Highgate in Chatham-Kent faces a string of charges after a traffic stop.
Provincial police pulled over a vehicle on Victoria Rd. in Chatham-Kent Friday at 10:30pm.
It was clocked by radar going 140km/h in a posted 90 km/h zone.
When speaking to the driver, the officer believed the man had been drinking.
He was taken to the detachment for more tests but refused to give a sample and damaged a holding cell while there.
The man is facing half a dozen charges including driving while impaired, driving with an open container of alcohol, racing a motor vehicle and having a blood alcohol level above zero while a novice driver.
