New Program To Provide Support For Adults With Disabilities
A new program aims to fill in the gaps.
Dignified Day is a local organization offering day programs for adults over 18 years ld who have disabilities.
Erin White with the program says there's been a demand that wasn't being served.
"Between 18 and 21 [years old] there is a cut off in the school system and their is a cut off for a lot of programming and so for a lot of these young adults are used to going to school Monday to Friday every single day and then they hit that 21 age and there is nothing for them," says White. "So, it kind of just drove us to provide a program for that age group that is in such a need."
White says the cost to enrol in the program is based on the individual's needs. The program is in Windsor at 3244 Walker Rd.
