OFSAA Basketball Tournaments Open

The OFSAA boys basketball tournaments continue today with the triple 'AAA' event being held here in Windsor, hosted by the Kennedy Clippers.

Kennedy opened yesterday with an easy, 73-43 win over Sault Ste Marie St Mary's.

The Clippers opened a big 24 point half time lead and never looked back.

Everette Burks led Kennedy with 15 points.

The Clippers play Orillia at 10:30am in their own gym, with the winner heading into a quarter final game at 5pm against either Fergus-Centre Wellington or Hamilton Cathedral.

At the double 'AA' tourney Assumption lost 56-48 to Belleville St Mary's.  Kassen Byas led the Purple Raiders with 24 points.

Lajeunesse won in the 'A' tournament opener, 62-50 over Scarlett Heights.  

Ibrahim Abou El Hassan was the sparkplug for the Royals tossing in 23 points.
