Outpouring Of Support For Cancer Patient Krystal Allman
A benefit for a Windsor woman battling cancer has brought an outpouring of support.
39-year-old Krystal Allman was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 terminal cancer.
Friends and family put together a fundraiser for Allman at The Moose Lodge on Tecumseh Rd West Saturday.
Nearly 100 people filled the main hall, many of whom Allman's daughter Julia Allman says she doesn't even know.
"It's pretty emotional because I don't even know half the people in here but everybody seems to know her," said Allman.
Krystal's sister Kayleigh Rae says they don't have a fundraising goal but she hopes it's enough for Krystal to focus on getting well.
"I just hope that there's enough that she's ok to stay home and not work and not have to worry about if she can do that extra treatment," says Rae.
Krystal's family says she's a fighter and will beat the disease.
Part of the funds are being raised for alternative treatments and medications not covered by OHIP.
