Pacifica Sales Down on Both Sides of Border

Fiat Chrysler is reporting a sales decrease in March.

Overall U.S. sales were down 7% in March compared to March of 2018, with 200,307 vehicles sold last month across the U.S.

Sales of the Windsor-built Dodge Caravan were down just 3% compared to March of 2018 with 15,806 minivans sold last month.

In Canada, sales of the Caravan were up 13% in March compared to the same time a year ago. 3,370 Caravans were sold last month.

Sales of the Chrysler Pacifica were down on both sides of the border in March compared to March of 2018.

In the U.S.. 8,457 Pacificas were sold, a 35% drop over March of last year. Year-to-date sales are also off 29% compared to the same time frame a year ago.

In Canada, sales of the Pacifica were down 66%, with just 304 sold last month compared to March of 2018. Year-to-date sales in this country are also down 59%.

The Windsor Assembly Plant is currently on a two week shutdown after the company announced it plans to eliminate the third shift at the plant due to lagging sales of the Pacifica. That will take effect September 30th, impacting an estimated 1,500 employees.
