Pacifica Sales Worry Analyst
The number of Chrysler Pacificas sold in Canada has a University of Windsor auto analyst concerned.
As AM800 News reported yesterday, just 2,650 of the vehicles were sold in Canada in 2016 and another 62,000 were sold in the United States.
The University's Tony Faria says those numbers could be bad news for the Windsor Assembly Plant. "They are not at a level high enough to keep three full shifts in operation at the Windsor Assembly Plant. [It] has been building about 350,000 minivans a year and the Pacifica certainly is not selling at that rate."
Faria blames the $44,000 to $54,000 price range for putting the vehicle out of reach for most families. He adds, the lower-priced Dodge Caravan continues to sell well but it's to be discontinued after the 2019 model year. Faria suggests that's a strategy Fiat Chrysler might want to reconsider given Pacifica sales figures.
