Panthers Rip Red Wings

Jonathan Huberdeau had a power-play goal and an assist as the Florida Panthers clobbered the Detroit Red Wings 6-1 in Florida.

Josh Brown and Jamie McGinn scored first period goals as Florida jumped out to early lead.

Aleksander Barkov netted his 30th goal as the Panthers won their second straight at home.  

Thomas Vanek scored on a power play for Detroit.

Red Wings goalie Jimmy Howard allowed six goals on 43 shots.  Detroit is 1-7-and-3 in its last 11 games.

The Wings finish their NHL road trip Tuesday night at Montreal.
