People in Windsor Essex Show Support for McHappy Day
Area McDonalds Restaurants are helping out a trio of Windsor-Essex charities on McHappy Day.
The annual event is in its 26th year and raised $230,000 locally last year.
$1 from every Big Mac sandwich, Happy Meal, and hot McCafé beverage sold in McDonald’s restaurants will go to Ronald McDonald House Charities Canada and local children’s charities John McGivney Centre and Big Brothers Big Sisters.
Pauline Eyers came out with her grand-daughter Lilliana.
"To support the local children and the Ronald McDonald House. I had a grandson and they used the Ronald McDonald house, he was very ill and it was wonderful. It was a wonderful experience all around."
Local corrections officer Gwynne Attenborough is helping out selling McHappy Day branded items.
"I thought it'd be a great idea to help out with McHappy Day, help Ronald McDonald House. We have T-shirts, socks, bracelets, bags, Tupperware. We have $100 worth for a raffle we're doing today."
Ronald McDonald Houses have supported 360,000 families since 1981.
