Pot Seizure Nets Toronto Area Trucker At The Ambassador Bridge

A Markham truck driver faces charges after a massive amount of marijuana was seized at the Ambassador Bridge.

On July 27th CBSA agents at the bridge did a secondary examination on a commercial vehicle.

In the cab of the truck they located nearly 38.95 kilograms of suspected marijuana.

The driver was arrested and handed over to the RCMP.

Tamara Allard, District Director, Ambassador Bridge Operations, says "This marijuana seizure demonstrates the CBSA's efforts to stop the smuggling of illicit drugs and keep contraband off our streets."

The 40-year-old GTA resident is under investigation for Importation offences under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
