Pride Flag Waving In Downtown Windsor
Pride Fest is officially underway in Windsor-Essex.
On Wednesday, the rainbow coloured flag was raised at city hall square.
Paulette Kupnicki attended the ceremony with her wife.
Kupnicki says some people can't believe her and her wife have been married for 35 years.
"It's really a surprise a lot of times," says Kupnicki. "People are shocked that so many of us have been together for long periods of time and it's important to be visible and some people are better able to do it then others,"
It's the 25th anniversary of pride week in Windsor-Essex.
The five day festival includes a number of events including bowling, lawn bowling, a dance party and the annual pride parade.
The parade takes place on Sunday in downtown Windsor starting at 11am.
