Queen's Line Fatal Results In Criminal Charges

Chatham Kent Police have charged the surviving driver from a fatal crash on Queen's Line.

Two vehicles collided head-on early Tuesday morning just east of Tilbury.

The road was closed between the 401 and Sinclair Road for several hours for the investigation.

A 24-year-old man from Lambton County died as a result of the crash, but a 22-year-old Chatham man survived.

Police say the surviving driver remains in hospital with serious injuries, but is expected to survive.

22-year-old Jesse Ostapec of Chatham was arrested and charged with criminal negligence causing death.  

He appears in court next month.
