Rainfall Record For Windsor-Essex

A rainfall record for Windsor-Essex.

Over 62mm of rain fell this past weekend. Environment Canada says that included 23mm on Saturday and a record-setting 42.2mm on Sunday. The old mark for April 15th was 31.2mm set in 1972.

While the heavy rain is over, Windsor-Essex can still expect to see some more showers, a chance of snow and well-below season temperatures until later this week.

Warning Preparedness Meteorologist Etienne Gregoire says "remnants of that storm will be showers and some flurries later on this evening and overnight. We may actually pick up a few centimetres overnight, so it will be a slow process before this storm moves away and we actually start seeing sunny breaks again."

Gregoire says it's going to stay cool all week long. "We should have daytime highs of 14C this time of year. It remains cool absolutely but no major storms on the way, nothing right now on the horizon, just the remnants of that storm until at least Wednesday."
