Rainfall Totals Above Normal in Windsor-Essex

May was slightly wetter than normal across Windsor-Essex.

According to Environment Canada, 100mm of rain fell last month across the area.

Normal rainfall during May in Windsor-Essex is around 89mm.

Despite the heavy rain, it wasn't as much as May of 2018.

Environment Canada reports 155.4mm of rain was recorded during the same month last year at Windsor Airport.

Local user groups are also suffering from the wet spring.

In total, all 130 of the City of Windsor's fields have been shut down due to poor conditions nine times, that's in addition to 11 partial closures in different areas of the city,

Issued last week, there is also a nearly two week flood watch in effect from the Essex Region Conservation Authority (ERCA).
