Rays Blank Tigers in Detroit

Charlie Morton stuck out eight over seven innings of five-hit ball as the Tampa Bay Rays shut out the Detroit Tigers 4-0.  

Morton extended his unbeaten streak to 20 starts, with his last loss coming last August.  

Austin Meadows tripled and scored on a throwing error to get Tampa Bay on the board in the third.  

Ji-Man Choi added two hits and an RBI as the Rays snapped a four-game skid.

Spencer Turnbull allowed three runs in five frames to take the loss for Detroit.  

Nicholas Castellanos doubled for the Tigers' only extra-base hit.

Daniel Norris gets the start for the Tigers in Thursday afternoon's series finale.
