Restrictions Lifted At Windsor Regional Hospital's Met Campus After Flu Outbreak

As heard on AM800 News, staff at Windsor Regional Hospital have been hit hard by the flu in recent weeks.

The outbreak was officially declared Jan. 8 after two patients and three staff were diagnosed with Influenza B at Met Campus over a short time span. At its peak,  there were 21 confirmed-cases at the Ouellette Campus alone.

Restrictions have now been lifted on the sixth-floor after the Windsor-Essex County Public Health Unit found no new cases were reported since Jan. 2 — restrictions were lifted on the seventh-floor Friday.

The Health Unit is still pushing prevention steps with several months of flu season remaining in Windsor-Essex.
