Riverside Vista Project Expected to Wrap Up Next Week

The latest phase of the Riverside Vista Project is nearing completion.

"We are close to re-opening the road," says City of Windsor Senior Engineer Anna Godo.  "It is scheduled to re-open by the ninth of August which is next Friday."

The work on Riverside Drive from Lauzon Road to Riverdale Avenue started in late March and was originally scheduled to wrap up by the end of June but the project was delayed until the end of July due to high river levels and rain fall.

"We're just finishing up with driveways and surface restoration," says Godo.  "Next year we'll be doing surface asphalt so there will be some closures again and there will be some intermittent work done at the intersection of Lauzon and Riverside."

The project included work done on watermains and sewers along with road re-construction.

The cost of the Riverside Vista project is $6.3-million.

The next phase from Ford Boulevard to St. Rose Avenue is expected to begin in 2022.
