Run For Windsor Fundraiser Launched

Windsor's Muslim community is making a significant commitment to help fund the planned urgent care centre at the former Grace hospital site.

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama'at Windsor is hosting a fundraising walk along the riverfront May 6th called Run For Windsor.

Association President Dr. Aleem Khan says they're raising a minimum of $500,000 over 10 years for the centre.

Representing the city, Ward 1 Councillor Fred Francis says this is welcome news:  "to ensure we're able to move forward on this project is certainly heartening for me, has city council support and my full support.  I want to thank everyone and encourage everyone to go online at Run for Windsor register for May 6th lets make sure we do what we can as a community to make sure this project moves forward as quickly as possible"

WRH President and CEO David Musyj says the proposed urgent care centre has yet to receive official approval, but it's a building block for the new acute care
