Saints Hold On To Beat The Panthers

For the third time this season, the New Orleans Saints beat the Carolina Panthers, this time 31-26, in Wild Card action at the Superdome.

Drew Brees threw for 376 yards and two touchdowns to guide the Saints into this weekend's Divisional Round, where they'll visit the Minnesota Vikings.

Ted Ginn Junior caught an 80-yard touchdown for New Orleans, and Michael Thomas snagged eight passes for 131 yards in the win.

Cam Newton finished with 386 total yards and two fourth-quarter touchdowns for the Panthers, but was sacked in the final seconds to end a rally attempt.

The Panthers head into an uncertain offseason as owner Jerry Richardson prepares to sell the team.
